You can indicate your vehicle information in the app to begin receiving routes that are optimized to fit the space in your vehicle. Keep in mind that package size is not determined by your vehicle size, meaning you may have an assortment of small and large packages to deliver.
In order to help you receive route offers that are optimized to fit the space in your vehicle, you will be asked to enter your vehicle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), which will automatically populate the make, model, and year of your vehicle. You can locate the VIN barcode in the driver's side door or door jamb. You can also locate the VIN number on the driver's side dashboard.
Follow the instructions below to add your vehicle information by VIN.
- From the Main Menu, select your name to navigate to the Account screen.
- Then, tap Vehicle info.
- On this screen, you can choose to scan the VIN of your vehicle or manually enter the number.
- If you are unable to scan or locate the VIN, you can tap Select vehicle info to manually enter the year, make, and model of your vehicle.
- To remove a vehicle from the list, click the 3 dots next to the vehicle name, and tap Remove vehicle.
You can add up to 5 vehicles to your profile. If you add more than one, make sure the vehicle you’ll be actively using to complete routes is selected as your driving vehicle.
If you’re unable to find your specific vehicle in the app, select the closest make, model, and year or contact Shipt Support.

FAQs
Why is the max vehicle capacity listed in my app less than the total cargo space of my vehicle?
- Shipt uses a variety of factors to determine the maximum working capacity applied to a vehicle including, but not limited to, source data provided to a government database by vehicle manufacturers. Entering the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) or Make/Model/Year (MMY) of your vehicle allows Shipt to classify the working capacity of your vehicle and more accurately offer routes to you with consideration to the working capacity of your vehicle.
What do I do if the max vehicle capacity listed in the app is more than the total cargo space of my vehicle?
- You can manually add another vehicle in the app with the Make/Model/Year (MMY) of a similar size vehicle to reflect the accurate capacity of your vehicle.
- To manually add a vehicle in the Shipt app:
- Tap Account.

- Tap Add Vehicle.
- Tap Select vehicle info.
- Select the Make, Model and Year of a similar sized vehicle using the drop down selections.

What do I do if the Make/Model/Year (MMY) that comes back from the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) entered is not the MMY of my vehicle?

What if the Make/Model/Year (MMY) of my vehicle is not found in the drop down selections when manually entering Make/Model/Year (MMY)?
- If the MMY is not found in the drop down selections, choose a similar make and model of the vehicle. If the make and model is found, but not the year, choose the next year available.
Why is Shipt asking for my VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)?
- We only use your VIN to look up the Make, Model and Year (MMY) of the associated vehicle in a government database. Shipt does not store your VIN. This feature allows more accurately sized routes to be offered to you based on the capacity of your vehicle. This capability will help you claim routes that are right for you, instead of routes beyond the capacity of your vehicle, and therefore keeping you in good standing on the platform by delivering all packages available for pickup.
- If a driver continuously leaves available packages for pickup behind at the sortation center, they are subject to removal from the platform per the package pickup reliability stat.
